WiFi Configuration & Commissioning
A Configuration & Commissioning visit assumes that the Ethernet data cabling has already been fitted in accordance with the site survey report. A pre-commissioning questionnaire is made available to the reseller for sending to their customer for completion. This includes a check-list to ensure that all preparations have been made in preparation for the Configuration & Commissioning visit to the customer site.
The objectives of the visit are to configure the WiFi access points and WiFi client devices in accordance with the customers' requirements and document in a Configuration & Commissioning report. Coverage and connectivity tests are also conducted to ensure that the proposed access points provide the necessary coverage (as defined in the site survey report) and are fully operational. Any WiFi client devices are tested to confirm connectivity. The wireless network is also configured to be secure to a minimum standard of WPA or WPA2.
The Configuration & Commissioning report will be completed off site and will include an updated site plan annotated to show access point locations and their settings (IP address, RADIO MAC address, radio channel etc). This report will serve as a reference document to the customer to enable them to perform first line support. Should any issues need to be escalated to DW WiFi, this document captures the configuration of the WiFi system and hence 'short cuts' the time required in order to assist in diagnosing any issues. As an example should DW WiFi be contracted to visit site to perform 'Trouble Shooting' this document will enable an initial system audit to be skipped thus avoiding eating into valuable time better spent helping to diagnose problems.
DW WiFi offers this service to reseller customers at a discounted rate and this is available on request. Please fill out the Contact Us section with your details and your area of interest should you need further information.
